Jade Cargill and Naomi are set to make WWE history at WrestleMania 41, with their highly anticipated clash officially confirmed following the latest episode of SmackDown.
While it remains unclear which night of the two-night WrestleMania event will host the bout, one thing is certain: this match is groundbreaking.
The showdown marks the first non-title women’s match at WrestleMania in nearly two decades. The last time such a match took place was back at WrestleMania 22 in 2006, when Torrie Wilson and Candice Michelle competed in a Playboy Pillow Fight.
But Cargill vs Naomi goes one step further. According to WrestleOps, this will also be the first-ever women’s WrestleMania match without a title or stipulation attached—a pure one-on-one contest driven solely by personal rivalry and in-ring competition.
Both Cargill and Naomi are expected to bring their A-game to the squared circle, and regardless of who wins, their match is already a victory for representation and progress in WWE’s women’s division.
